Question 1
I read that Solcial is “The first uncensored, permissionless and truly open social network” but does that mean that each user will be able to share the content they want and when they want?or despite not having censorship, if it has any restrictions?
@MesutGunerri
Answer
So we’re a platform that promotes freedom of speech. Content that is normally banned on dictatorships (like political stuff) should be allowed on Solcial (wherever you live).
But there is content that is not a question of freedom of speech, there is content that is simply illegal (on every country on Earth), like child porn, decapitations, terrorist discussions etc. And that type of content has to be moderated.
Yet we’re a platform that can’t delete content. But we can hide content in the UI through moderation: users can report content that is illegal, and when the ratio of reports/views is above a certain %, we’ll hide the content in the UI and unpin the data from our IPFS nodes. Because the community (as a whole) has voted that this content is disgusting or illegal and should be hidden. But if some community somewhere thinks that this content is important and should be visible, they can just continue to pin the content on IPFS and broadcast it using their nodes. So it will be visible to them via their direct links, but not visible on the UI to the broader audience.
We have also other incentivisation mechanisms to get the community to moderate this social network, this metaverse, but I won’t share everything today.
Question 2
What gives the value of $Social ? What is the role of it in-out your ecosystem? Could you please mention some advantages of holding $Social in the long-term? What are the important achievements
Answer
The Solcial token will be used for 3 main purposes:
1/ As a governance token for voting on the DAO.
2/ For having discounts on trading fees.
And 3/ to buy the token of anyone on Solcial, you will need SLC as the base currency. Each user token is traded versus SLC (the Solcial token), and you need SLC to buy the token of anyone (a bit like Chilliz for the Fan tokens, to buy the football clubs coins like Arsenal or PSG, you trade them versus CHZ.)
Question 3
The governance mechanism and the DAO will take place a bit later in our roadmap. As we’ve seen many times in crypto, the rollout to a completely decentralised governance model should be progressive and shouldn’t be done too early. It’s important to guide the project on the right track first and evolve to the DAO once everything is working well.

Question 4
Solcial is a decentralized social network on the Solana blockchain. Taking into account that today there are multiple and attractive blockchains, I would like to ask: why Solana? what made you choose this blockchain over others in crypto space?
@Tayfuness Turrk
Answer
Good question, the reason really is that its a fast blockchain, and the fees are cheap, which fits our needs for a consumer application. Like people don’t want to wait 5min and pay $30 to post a photo or make a trade
We are competing against web2 social networks where the user experience is the best in the world, we have to use a blockchain fast enough so that users don’t notice any difference with facebook or twitter
Question 5
How does Solcial make the social networking experience fairer, clearer and where users have complete control over their information? With new events happening with networks like WhatsApp, how does Solcial ensure full transparency and data protection to its users?
@Sifat411322
Answer
The main reasons why it is a fairer and more transparent platform is that we can’t delete the content of users, and we don’t moderate their content directly (i.e. its not a team of 20 people reviewing the content of the whole world and deciding what’s good and what should be censored, its the community as a whole that will manage this. Its sort of decentralised moderation, so that not one very powerful person or group has all the control).
